Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Roll Credits. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
The service
Roll Credits is a tool for Canadian film and TV crew to track jobs and hours, fill timesheets, scan receipts, build petty cash reports, and generate invoices. It is provided by Roll Credits, based in Toronto, Canada. The service is free to use, with an optional paid plan (Crew Pro) that unlocks additional features.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and keep it current so the app can produce correct paperwork. You must be able to form a binding contract to use Roll Credits.
Free plan and Crew Pro
The free plan requires no payment and has no time limit. It includes tracking jobs and days, filling timesheets, the calendar, contacts, syncing between your devices, invoices and reports (which carry Roll Credits branding), and exporting your data.
Crew Pro is an optional paid plan at $39 CAD per year or $4.99 CAD per month. It adds unlimited receipt scanning, invoices and reports without Roll Credits branding, and business write-off tracking.
Usage limits on the free plan. Receipt scanning uses an AI service that costs us money per use, so free accounts include a limited number of scans each calendar month. You can always attach a receipt and enter its details manually; only the automatic scanning is limited. We may adjust this allowance over time.
Billing and cancellation
If you subscribe to Crew Pro, payment is processed by Stripe and your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from Settings. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep Crew Pro until then, and afterwards your account continues on the free plan — you do not lose access to your data or to the free features. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable. You can export a full backup of your data at any time.
Acceptable use
Use Roll Credits only for lawful purposes and your own work records. Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service, or use it to store or transmit unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or put it at risk.
Your data
Your data is yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display it so the app works for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export or permanently delete your data from Settings at any time.
Not professional advice
Roll Credits helps you organize your work and calculates figures from the information you provide, including tax estimates based on your province and tax settings. It is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, or legal advice. Tax rules can depend on your registration and the specifics of each job. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit to productions and tax authorities, and we recommend confirming your situation with a qualified accountant.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, improve, or change features over time, and may occasionally take the service offline for maintenance.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or that results and calculations will be error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roll Credits and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using Roll Credits and delete your account at any time. Ending a Crew Pro subscription does not close your account — it returns to the free plan. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends; you can export your data beforehand.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a meaningful change, we will note it in the app. Continuing to use Roll Credits after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
